Our Story

Born from a Love of the Wild

In 2006, Ram Prasad Tharu - a local naturalist and passionate wildlife advocate - opened Badreni Jungle Resort on the banks of the Rapti River. His vision was simple yet profound: create a place where guests could experience the true majesty of Chitwan without compromising the very ecosystem that makes it extraordinary.

What began as eight modest rooms has grown into one of Nepal's most celebrated wildlife retreats, earning recognition for both its guest experience and its genuine commitment to conservation and community.

Conservation First

Every activity we offer is designed with minimal environmental impact. We partner with Chitwan National Park to fund anti-poaching efforts and habitat restoration.

Community Rooted

Over 90% of our team are from local Tharu and Chitwan communities. We source ingredients locally, support village artisans, and reinvest in local education.

Wildlife Guardians

We actively monitor rhino and tiger corridors around our property, contributing sighting data to conservation research across the Terai Arc Landscape.

Resort Founded

Badreni Jungle Resort opens its doors with 8 rooms and a vision to redefine wilderness hospitality in Nepal.

2009

Eco Certification

Awarded Green Leaf Certification from Nepal Tourism Board for sustainable practices and community integration.

2013

Expansion

Added Jungle Suite category and the riverside open-air restaurant, welcoming new levels of comfort.

2017

Wildlife Partnership

Signed a formal MoU with Chitwan National Park to contribute to rhino and tiger monitoring programs.

2022

Award Recognition

Named Best Wildlife Resort in Nepal by the Nepal Travel & Tourism Awards for the third consecutive year.
